[Rapunzel seems to have taken the trial pretty hard.
Reyna doesn't want to force her to do chores for her on top of all that... but she knows from experience that having work to do can help people push forward in difficult situations, sometimes. A goal - a task - anything to focus on other than mulling over what happened over and over again.
So she approaches her after the trial concludes, as they're on their way back into the castle.]
[ the anger's drained back out and she's returned to just being downcast --- she hasn't gotten a chance to braid her hair back up, either, so it's now just dragging everywhere. ]
Reyna?
[ she wipes her eyes hastily, they're a little red. ]
Oh--- that's right, your cloak, I need to wash it.
[She would like for there to be. Reyna might be violent at times, but she doesn't like senseless bloodshed. And killing Jae-ha and Sousei would be just that - senseless.]
I don't know that there is. But... why don't we look over our rulebooks together? Maybe we can find some sort of loophole.
Good. Don't give up. [Rapunzel's going to need that kind of steel in her spine - or iron, perhaps. Cast-iron? Like her frying pan.] The moment we stop fighting, that's when they win.
[mission accomplished! reyna smiles back, a little relieved.]
It's not the worst time. [she doesn't especially like talking questions about herself, but if it'll take rapunzel's mind off of what happened...] Go ahead.
...I'll probably ask you about yourself too, though.
Where I come from, the gods are still very much involved with the world.
[who knows if corona's gods play an active role in things, but--]
...well, no. That's not exactly right. They oversee the things they're the gods of, and they interact with mortals - that's how people like me come to be. [with the number of demigods in the world, the gods sure are getting a lot of tail.....] But for major things, they need heroes - demigods - to do their bidding. We live our lives with a foot in both worlds, so it's up to us to protect them both.
prologue - saturday evening;

[ rubs her arms and takes a breath. ]
Worried. I'm worried about Jae-ha and Sousei..... There has to be something we can do for them.

I don't know that there is. But... why don't we look over our rulebooks together? Maybe we can find some sort of loophole.

[ such as: her doge. and her backstory (tm). ]
I wanted to thank you for helping me out with the ink, too.

It was nothing. Dropping that on you like that - it was a nasty trick on the Tiger's part.
no subject
Among other nasty tricks, yeah. Still, if that's the worst they can throw at me -- I'm not going to stop fighting them.

Good. Don't give up. [Rapunzel's going to need that kind of steel in her spine - or iron, perhaps. Cast-iron? Like her frying pan.] The moment we stop fighting, that's when they win.
I'm not willing to allow that.

You... You'll fight with me, right? To end this, to stop the murders and get out of this castle.

So you're.... a hero... a demigood? That sounds incredible.
