[Reyna doesn't have every pair of partners memorized just yet, but she's made a point of trying to commit the names that appear on the door plaques to memory. She remembers Sousei from when they first arrived, and she remembers seeing him vanish into a dorm room with the old woman who died once.
So she makes a point of tracking him down. If they're partners with whoever they're sharing a room with, and she's dead, then...
Well. It doesn't seem good for him.]
Hey. [She greets him with a small nod of her head.] ...how are you holding up?
[Murder happened and now Sousei is on the chopping block. "As well as can be expected" isn't particularly well, all told.
Reyna would say he's handling this better than expected.]
I'm uninjured. [She says, despite the light bruises from falling down the stairs. In the long run? Those are inconsequential. They'll fade, and she'll be just fine. But for the others who have to live — or not live — with the consequences of whatever happened last night...] If you feel up to it... I had some questions about what you all found out there, since I was unconscious for most of it.
[Sometimes, you're up on the chopping block and these things happen. Just ask Sousei. He's been through this twice and Houdini'd his way out of both of them.
Eventually it had to catch up to him, right?]
... Of course. You may ask--I will answer with what I know.
[That's a good question, and Sousei is quiet for a moment as he thinks it over.
Ultimately what he decides on is:]
I cannot say I know anyone here well enough to know if anyone's behavior was out of the ordinary--but there are some people I would keep an eye on if I were you. I do not believe she is the murderer in question today, but...
Monika reacted quite emotionally to finding Jae-ha, first unconscious and then awake, in a way that was strange. It may be that she is simply a very emotional teenage girl, but if that is the case, she is still dangerous.
[The most emotional people can be coerced into doing things easily, right?]
... Just keep an eye on her in the future. [Since Sousei won't be able to.] For her own sake, if nobody else's.
[Reyna nods. Monika, right. She'll remember that, and will have to make a point of checking in with her once this is... over.]
Understood.
["For her own sake," Sousei says. He may be a lone wolf, but he's pretty good at acting like he's not - however unintentional that might be. He probably cares more than he lets on.
Maybe Reyna's reading too much into it.]
What about the evidence you found? Was there anything that seemed like it didn't belong?
Unfortunately, the area I inspected did not have much of it. I only was able to get glimpses of the other scenes.
There were knives missing from the kitchen--multiple at that--but I do not find that to be strange.
[Of course people stole knives.]
Otherwise, the kitchen was spotless. You would have to speak to the others to get a proper recounting of their scenes. It would be more harmful for me to give you erroneous information than to ask them.
But now that I have experienced that, I would have to say that I suspect this is simply another manner of messing with us, and making our lives more difficult.
[...not that, uh, she can really offer to trade him any information in return. it's looking like he's going to die? we both knew from the start that he wouldn't but reyna doesn't know that]
[Well, he did it - he survived. It would be nice if Reyna and Sousei could talk about something that wasn't business for once, but that's literally impossible, so. Wherever he is she tracks him down eventually and greets him with a nod as she approaches.]
Enough of them to be annoying - but there are only so many of us.
[As their numbers dwindle, they'll have less and less that they need to look out for. ...which is kind of a macabre way of thinking about it, but it is what it is.]
Whoever acted today - we can conclude it was someone who liked you and Jae-ha well enough to save the pair of you.
[...
Or someone who disliked Sousei enough to annoy him by pairing him with Jae-ha, but. She doesn't actually think Jae-ha's that bad......]
... I dislike that our only option in many of these things is to "wait and see" when there are lives on the line. There must be other ways to gather answers.
[sousei is preaching to the choir. reyna makes a face and nods.]
I'd go poking around for answers myself, but...
[she shrugs]
If something happens to me, I don't want to take my partner down with me. They've tied my hands that way. [...] I'll just have to get him on board with it.
The problem is that, clearly, there are some people that don't care about that.
[shARPAY. She very well could have taken Sousei with Gi-gan, and Jae-ha with herself once she was caught; was it worth it? Reyna can't think that it is.]
I pity anyone who's ended up with someone like that for a partner.
I would appreciate that. I will be doing what I can to find a possible method to undermine all of these "rules" we must follow; I will share what I find with you in return.
[Who's exhausted? Everyone, probably. Including Reyna.
When she comes across Sousei, her eyes widen slightly - and then she nods to him in greeting. In some ways, bumping into him is easier than bumping into many of the other people in the castle right now.
Mostly because she doesn't feel like she offended his sensibilities by suggesting mid-trial murder before.]
[tmw i notice i missed a notif from last time. fck. do you wanna backtag it bc i can reply...
anyway, aside from that, sousei will come across reyna flat on her stomach in the kitchen, her arm half-under the stove as she tries to reach for something that's stuck under there, apparently. that can't be good for the stitches on her back but it's... fine...]
This is not even that surprising at this point, but still, Sousei's...frowning. You know? He'll let her go ahead and do that. He won't interrupt, carry on, Reyna.]
prologue - friday afternoon;
So she makes a point of tracking him down. If they're partners with whoever they're sharing a room with, and she's dead, then...
Well. It doesn't seem good for him.]
Hey. [She greets him with a small nod of her head.] ...how are you holding up?
no subject
(While he's prefer to be alone, he doesn't have the heart to turn them away.
If this helps them, then so be it.)]
... Reyna. Good evening.
[He's pretty calm, at least!]
I am as well as can be expected. [Murder did happen today, after all.] And yourself?
no subject
Reyna would say he's handling this better than expected.]

[And a follow-up question:]
Was there anyone whose behavior seemed outside the norm of what you might expect, while all of this was happening?
no subject
Ultimately what he decides on is:]
I cannot say I know anyone here well enough to know if anyone's behavior was out of the ordinary--but there are some people I would keep an eye on if I were you. I do not believe she is the murderer in question today, but...

no subject
I understand.
It seems there was a lot of ground to be covered. [...] Do you find that strange?
no subject
[But also like--]
But now that I have experienced that, I would have to say that I suspect this is simply another manner of messing with us, and making our lives more difficult.
[(Fuck that shit.)]
no subject
That sounds disturbingly likely.
no subject
I don't believe it would have been worth the effort for the murderer to move that many objects and people.
[So like.
Yeah.
They're being fucked with.]
Though I am merely theorizing, naturally.
no subject
[...that said:]
But I would love to know who decided to move me from my room.
[so she can wring their neck probably]
no subject
Should I come across that information at any point, you will be the first to hear it from me.
[So you can go wring their necks personally.]
no subject
Thank you.
[...not that, uh, she can really offer to trade him any information in return. it's looking like he's going to die? we both knew from the start that he wouldn't but reyna doesn't know that]
prologue - sunday afternoon;
Sousei. Good to see you're still with us.
no subject
Yes, it seems that in some way, conveniently, this all worked out.
[For the better for him. Not for Gi-gan or Sharpay.]
Though it only brings more questions to my mind. How many such rules and roles must we watch out for?
no subject
[As their numbers dwindle, they'll have less and less that they need to look out for. ...which is kind of a macabre way of thinking about it, but it is what it is.]

[...
Or someone who disliked Sousei enough to annoy him by pairing him with Jae-ha, but. She doesn't actually think Jae-ha's that bad......]
no subject
Indeed. That does not narrow it down much, however; Jae-ha is an irritation, but he has a way of charming people.
no subject
...but, wisely, she doesn't ask.]
I guess we'll see - if they do this again next week, or even if they don't, that should still... tell us something.
no subject
... I dislike that our only option in many of these things is to "wait and see" when there are lives on the line. There must be other ways to gather answers.
[Some...how...]
no subject
I'd go poking around for answers myself, but...
[she shrugs]
If something happens to me, I don't want to take my partner down with me. They've tied my hands that way. [...] I'll just have to get him on board with it.
no subject
[Otherwise they'd be risking their lives left and right to find a way out.]
no subject
[shARPAY. She very well could have taken Sousei with Gi-gan, and Jae-ha with herself once she was caught; was it worth it? Reyna can't think that it is.]
I pity anyone who's ended up with someone like that for a partner.
no subject
[In all honesty...]
I believe anyone desperate enough to commit murder here will not be concerning themselves with details such as dragging their partner down with them.
no subject
[so many levels of ugh!!]
...if I'm able to come across anything concrete enough to form a guess - I'll share it with you.
[NOW she can offer to trade info, since he'll be sticking around.]
no subject
[They're so...businesslike...]
no subject
Thank you.
[Reyna smiles faintly.]
I should probably let you get some rest - it was definitely an... exciting, day. But if you need anything, you know where to find me.
chapter two - saturday;
Good evening, Sousei.
no subject
Good evening, Reyna. Are you continuing to cope? [He'll go right to the point here.]
no subject
I am. Are you?
[Brisk, to the point. God, this really is a business meeting.]
no subject
[Why are they like this, they just can't be stopped.]
If you are willing, I would like to ask your impressions of this game as it stands now, now that we have been at this for some weeks.
chapter five - wednesday;
anyway, aside from that, sousei will come across reyna flat on her stomach in the kitchen, her arm half-under the stove as she tries to reach for something that's stuck under there, apparently. that can't be good for the stitches on her back but it's... fine...]
Ggh... just a little further...!
no subject
But.
Yeah.
This is not even that surprising at this point, but still, Sousei's...frowning. You know? He'll let her go ahead and do that. He won't interrupt, carry on, Reyna.]
