It may not be capable of granting that. Or maybe it's some kind of a message - "focus on what's in front of you." ...if what you want most has to do with something from your home, anyway.

Perhaps that is what I should have wished for instead. It would've been far more useful, in the long run. Or-- if not something to take the war apart, then a hint on how to end it.

I can't fault anyone for wishing for what they want, no matter how useful it might or might not be. Wishes are personal.

I suppose you're right. They are extremely personal. And not every personal desire is something that benefits the good of the whole.
